The sludge will be pumped through a static mixer. The coagulant/ flocculent
will be injected into the same static mixer to make sure that the sludge are
properly flocculated. The flocculated sludge will then flow by gravity into the
filtration drum. Excessive water will pass through the filter cloth (stainless
steel), leaving the thickened sludge in the drum. The drum will rotate at a slow
speed to ensure effective filtration. The SS filter cloth will be constantly
sprayed with high pressure water to make it clean and free from clogging.
The filtrate will escape via a drainage pipe located at the bottom of the
thickener. The thickened sludge will flow by gravity via another outlet.
