HiWaveTM Oxidizer or also called HIWOX is a patented technology for waste reduction using microwave combustion technology. Comparing to other existing conventional methods, the key advantages of HiWaveTM Oxidizer are: -

  • Pollution Free, no dioxin, furan and acidic gaseous
  • Disinfected and low organic content ash
  • Low operation and maintenance costs
  • Low operating temperature
  • Small area required due to its compact size

 

  AREAS OF APPLICATION
 
HIWOX is dedicated to treat various types of wastes. Some of these types are:
  • Hazardous Waste
    Most industrial wastes can be destroyed by HIWOX. The key advantage is the operation cost that in certain cases is 50% lower than the conventional incinerator system. Recovery of certain valuable products, such as gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons from the flue gas before the oxidation, is proven for certain types of wastes like agriculture waste.
  • Clinical or Medical Waste
    Clinical waste comprising pathological, microbiological, sharps and associated contaminated waste can easily be sterilized and reduced to inert ash prior to final disposal to the landfill. The inert material or “ash” from the unsorted clinical waste normally contains inert carbon, metallic objects and glassware.
  • Resource Recovery
    HIWOX when operated under certain controlled and specific conditions produces valuable end products. A specific example is waste tyres. The end products recovered are carbon black, activated carbon, scrap metal, gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon (or light fuel oil).

  KEY ADVANTAGES
 
The HIWOX’s special features allow it to achieve advantages, which are unique only to this technology: -
  • Microwave Technology
    Microwave is generated by magnetron using electricity source. Using the already well established heating and drying properties of microwave, a new unique property was established – depolymerization. The successful combination of all these properties is incorporated in HIWOX allowing oxidation of waste at low temperatures.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

During the operation, HIWOX reactor serving as the primary combustion chamber requires only a small quantity of air for oxidation and as a medium to carry flue gas to the down stream processing line. Remaining "ash" or inert material comprise the inorganic (sand, glass, metals, etc) and inert carbon.

The operating temperature in the reactor does not exceed 300° C. This low temperature of the flue gas prevents the formation of dioxin, furan and the generation of the acidic gases.
 

 
  • Unique Insulation Materials
    With safety as the primary concern in mind, new specially developed materials are used as lining, bearing in mind the microwave penetration powers. With such materials, HIWOX has limited heat transferred to surface of the reactor and provides maximum microwave heating efficiency.
  • Pollution Control System Using Microwave Dry Scrubber System
    Flue gas comprising acidic, unburnt gases and volatile organic in the reactor is properly treated in the Microwave Dry Scrubber System. The special limestone are the only consumable for the MDS.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Microwave is used to quicken the oxidation of the flue gas aided by fresh air introduced in the microwave scrubber system. Special limestone is packed together with the catalyst. The special lime stones will absorb all acidic gases generated during the oxidation of the unburnt gases and organic.
 

 
  • Durability
    The casings for the reactor and scrubber system are made of stainless steel material for durability and aesthetic purpose.
  • SCADA System
    A state of the art control system allows the operator to monitor and control the continuous performance of HIWOX through friendly touch screen. Desktop computer and printer will be provided as optional items.

  • Compact Size
    The HIWOX is compact in size, there is no bulky flue gas cleaning system. Only very small land area is required to house the whole system.
